SumpWatch Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

Gino Tech LLC ("Gino Tech", "we", "us") makes SumpWatch, a sump pit monitoring system made up of a water-level controller, an optional camera, and the SumpWatch mobile app. This policy explains what information SumpWatch collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Information we collect
  • Your name and email address – to create your account, sign you in, and contact you about your account.

  • An account ID created when you sign up – to link your account to your SumpWatch devices.

  • Device information (serial number, device name, Wi-Fi signal strength, firmware version, online/offline status) – to show your system’s status and tell you when a device goes offline.

  • Sensor readings and alert history (water-level float positions, warning and critical events, pit light state) – to show the water level, send alerts, and keep your alert history.

  • Push notification tokens for your phone – to deliver alerts to your phone.

  • Photos of your sump pit, only if you add a SumpWatch camera – to show the live pit view and attach a photo to alerts.

  • Emails of people you share a device with – to show you who has access.

We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or payment information through the app. Your Wi-Fi password is sent from your phone directly to your SumpWatch device over Bluetooth during setup and is stored only on that device, not on our servers.

The app asks for permission to use your camera (to scan the setup label), Bluetooth (to set up the device), your local network (to reach the device during setup), and notifications (to send alerts). You can change these permissions in your phone’s settings.

How we use information

We use the information above only to provide SumpWatch: to show your device status, send alerts and reminders, let you control the pit light, share access with people you invite, provide support, keep the service secure, and fix problems.

Sharing

We share information only:

  • With people you invite. If you share a SumpWatch, the people you invite can see its status, alert history and camera photos, and receive its alerts. Everyone with access sees the device’s name and the email addresses of the people it is shared with. Your own email is not shown to them.

  • With service providers that run SumpWatch for us: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage and sign-in, in the United States), Expo and Apple (delivering push notifications). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.

  • When required by law, or to protect the safety of people or property.

  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

How long we keep information
  • Alert history is kept while the device is on your account.

  • Camera photos are deleted automatically: live view frames after 1 day, alert photos after 30 days.

  • When you remove a device from your account, its alert history and photos are erased.

  • When you delete your account, we release your devices, erase their history and photos, remove your sharing access, and delete your sign-in. Backups are overwritten within 35 days.

Your choices and rights

You can view and update your information in the app. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. You can turn off notifications in your phone’s settings. To ask for a copy of your information or for help with any request, email support@ginotechusa.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; we will honor those requests.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Each SumpWatch device has its own secret key, and device keys and setup codes are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

Children

SumpWatch is meant for adults managing a home. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email.
