Is it safe and humane?
Yes, when it's set up and trained correctly. The collar always warns with a tone before any correction, has a tone-only mode and adjustable levels. We start at the lowest level that works and pair it with reward-based training. It's not recommended for puppies under 6 months or very anxious dogs, so ask your vet if you're unsure.
How long does training take?
Most dogs learn a new boundary in about 2–3 weeks of short daily sessions on a leash with the training flags. Once your dog reliably turns back at the tone, you move to supervised off-leash time and slowly remove the flags. We walk you through every step.
Does it work in Buffalo winters?
Yes. The wire is buried below the surface, so snow and cold don't change the boundary, the transmitter stays indoors and the collar is waterproof. Buried wire is rarely bothered by frost. After a big snowfall, it's a good idea to walk the boundary with your dog as a quick refresher.
How much yard can it cover?
Just about any yard. We route the wire to follow your property line and loop around driveways, pools and gardens. A standard system covers about a 1/3-acre yard and can be expanded with more wire to cover multiple acres.
Can I have more than one dog?
Yes. Each dog just needs its own receiver collar, and they all work on the same boundary. You can add another dog anytime.
Do you repair existing systems?
Yes. We find and fix broken boundary wires, replace worn collars and transmitters, and expand or re-route existing in-ground dog fence systems.
